Trainee Law Costs Draftsmen

Whilst there is no hard and fast rule on the matter, our experience shows that applicants with either a legal, scientific or accountancy background take more easily to the disciplines required of a Draftsman. This is on the basis of either their knowledge of the legal system or the training in recording and analysing matters in detail. Good maths and English is essential and we would normally expect successful candidates to possess a minimum of five GCSE’s at grade C level or above, and two ‘A’ levels or equivalent. In any event enthusiasm, self motivation and the ability to work hard and without supervision will lead to success.

Successful applicants will be offered a Fixed Term Training Contract for a period of 11 months. During this time their ALCD accredited training will be under the guidance of our Training Director and the Director in charge of the office in which they work. They will be expected to join the Association of Law Costs Draftsmen as a Student Member and to take the Association's examination course including attending the occasional compulsory seminars (most of which take place on Saturdays).

At the end of the Training period the Trainee, having satisfied the Company in all respects, should expect to be offered a permanent position with Kain Knight, dependent upon business requirements at that time.
